Antibacterial activity of ethanolic extract of (Syzygium aromaticum (L)
Merr & Perry) against Streptococcus mutans had been studied. Dried clove
flower was extracted by maceration method using ethanol 70%. Antibacterial
activity assay using difussion method with 6 groups: 0,02 g/ml; 0,04g/ml; 0,06
g/ml; 0,08 g/ml; negative control DMSO solvent 10% and positive control
streptomysin. Result showed that the concentration 0,06 g/ml; 0,08 g/ml; and
positive controls had the antibacterial activity, but the concentration 0,02 g/ml,
concentration 0,04 g/ml, and negative control has no antibacterial activity.
