This study entitled A Rhetoric Study of Tukul Arwana’s Questioning
Technique Aspect in Talk Show “Bukan Emapt Mata” in Trans 7 on Desember
2013. This study aims to describe the types of questions tha used by Tukul Arwana,
and questioning technique to star a dialogue by Tukul Arwana based on questions
found. This is descriptitive qualitative study. The data were Tukul Arwana based and
the guests’ dialogues in Talk Show “Bukan Empat Mata” in Trans 7. The total source
of data were 12 episodes from 2,4,6,9-11,13,24-27,30 of December 2013. The method
consisted of three phases: the provision of data using watching method with extension
technique that was involved free conversation technique (SLBC), recording and
writing techniques. Data analysis used was pragmatic unified method with the basic
and advanced technique. The basic technique was sorting decisive element technique
(PUP) while the advanced technique was circuit technique appeal to equate (HBS).
Based on the analysis, the types of question found aand used by Tukul Arwana
in Talk Show “Bukan Empat Mata” were (1) informative question, (2) question to
activate, (3) question to control, (4) question to trap, (5) socarates question, (6)
rhetorical question, (7) alternative question, (8) question to open a new case, (9)
question to close the conversation, (10) provocative question, (11) question to direct,
(12) offensive question, (13) and question to open conversation. Questioning
techniques used by Tukul Arwana to star a conversation were, (1) quetion about
someone’s judgment, (2) question about someone’s experience, (3) question about
someone’s opinion, (4) question about someone’s aducation, (5) question about
someone’s family, (6) and question about someone’s future.
