The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of
traffic word
game for teaching vocabula
ry at the first grade students at one of Junior High
Schools in Banjarnegara in Academic year 2014/2015.
This research was conducted by using quasi experimental research. The
participants of this research were the first grade students at one of Junior High
Schools in Banjarnegara. There were two classes with class A as the experimental
class and class B as the control class. Test was used in collecting the data of this
research, namely pre
-
test and post
-
test. The test consisted of multiple choice
items, mat
ching test items and completion. Based on the computation, t

was 4.436 and the result of t

table at the significant level 0.05 with the degree of
freedom 60 was 1.671. The calculation of t
