Introduction: Piperaceae family diversity in Indonesia has not been utilized
optimally. Previous research on antimicrobial activity screening of ethanol extract of
fruit and leaves Piperaceae combination. However was done the extract storage
stability has not done.
Object: This study aimed to determine the stability of ethanol extract of fruit and
leaves Piperaceae family.
Method: This research was experimental study with a pretest-posttest design spot
identification was done before and after storage by TLC-densitometry
Result: There were significant differences on area under the curve on TLC spot
before and after storage at a temperature of 25oC light, 4oC and -18oC. However at
temperature 25oC dark showed no significant different (p > 0,05). Low temperature
and light affect the number ethanol extract compounds of fruit an leaves Piperaceae
family.
Conclusion: Storage combination extract of fruit and leaves Piperaceae at
temperature 25oC dark maintain the stability of the compound concentration extract
compared to 25oC light, 4oC and -18oC.
