Based on the main problems the lack of motivation and ability of learners
in writing poetry, this research tries to implement learning model outdoor activity
that aims to increase the motivation and skills to write poetry in the fifth grade
students of SD Negeri 3 Karangklesem, District South Purwokerto school year
2015-2016.
This classroom action research using three cycles. Each cycle there are
four stages namely pre-action, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data
collection technique used documentation, observation, testing, and
questionnaires. Descriptive data analysis using qualitative and quantitative
techniques.
It can be concluded that the learning model Outdoor Activity can increase
learning motivation and skills to write poetry. Motivation at the stage pre-action
58.32 (or less), the first cycle of student motivation increased to 68.05 (or less),
and the second cycle to 76.2 (good), and the third cycle into 88.49 (good). While
the skill of writing poems on stage pre-action average value 60.68 (enough), the
first cycle to 65 (enough), and the second cycle into 82.57 (good), and the third
cycle 84.32 (good). In pre-action of a number of 37 learners who have achieved
grades above KKM number of 13 students (35%), in the first cycle increased to 22
students (59%), and the second cycle and the third cycle of all learners (100% )
had scores above the KKM predetermined.
