The aim of the research was to find out the effectiveness of photograph to
teach vocabulary for students.
This research used experimental method, the population of this research
was students of the seventh grade at one of MuhammadiyahJunior High Schools
at Banyumas, and the samples were class A1 as experiment class and class A2 as
control class. Test was used in collecting data, namely pre-test and post-test, and
the instrument was tried out to part of population to know its validity and
reliability. The test consists of multiple choices items and essay.
After the data were collected, it was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the
computation, t-test result 10.99, and the t-table was 1.898. It means that t-test
result was higher than t-table (10.99> 1.898). It could be concluded that
Photograph Media is effective for teaching vocabulary for seventh grade of
Muhammadiyah Junior High School at Banyumas in academic year 2014/2015.
