The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of Snake and Ladder Games for teaching vocabulary. This research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Sumbang in academic year 2012/2013. There were 2 classes involved in this research. Each class consisted of 30 students. Those classes were divided into control class and experimental class. The technique that was used for collecting data was tests. There were pre test and post test. Pre test was given before the treatment, and post test was given after the treatment. In analyzing the data, t-test were used. The result of t-test was 3.454 while the t-table was 1.671 at significan level = 0.05 and degree of freedom = 58. Thus, it showed that t-test was higher than that of t-table ( t-test > t-table). It means that there was positive effect in teaching vocabulary using Snake and Ladder game to the seventh grade students of Junior High School in academic year 2012/2013 and the hypothesis was accepted.
