Abstract

This study aims to (1) Knowing the understanding of the Indonesian teachers of
Vocational High School (SMK) in Tegal regency against Curriculum 2013, (2)
Determining the readiness of the Indonesian teachers of Vocational High School
(SMK) in Tegal regency to implement curriculum 2013, and (3) Knowing the
factors supporting and hindering the implementation of the curriculum in 2013 in
Tegal regency. In this research, analysis of the understanding and the readiness of
Indonesian teachers of Vocational High School (SMK) in Tegal regency for
supporting the implementation of Curriculum 2013.
This research is quantitative descriptive. Respondents in this study were the
Indonesian teachers of Vocational High School (SMK) in Tegal regencywhom has
been implemented Curriculum 2013 2015/2016 school year in June until August
2016 as many as 25 respondents. Data collected through the test instruments,
documents, observation and interviews. Analysis of understanding and readiness
of teachers is done by using descriptive statistical analysis and Crosstabs (cross
tabulation).
The results showed that teachers' understanding of the curriculum in 2013 mostly
in the category were as many as 12 teachers or 48%. Furthermore, teachers who
fall into the low category as many as 8 or 32% of teachers, and teachers in the
high category teachers as much as 5 or 20%. The frequencies contained in the
medium category, so it can be concluded that teachers' understanding of the
curriculum in 2013 is moderate.
While the teacher's readiness to support the implementation of Curriculum 2013
mostly in the category were as many as 13 teachers, or 52%, the next entry in the
low category as many as 10 or 40% of teachers and teachers who are categorized
as high as 2 teachers or 8%. The frequencies contained in the medium category, so
it can be concluded that the readiness of teachers to support the implementation of
Curriculum 2013 were moderate.
In the final section explains the factors that support the implementation of
Curriculum 2013, among others; (1) The Compliance of educators’ Competence
with curriculum, (2) Availability of Textbooks as Instructional Materials and
Learning Resources, (3) Strengthening the role of government in the guidance and
supervision, (4) Strengthening the management and culture of the school and (5)
Infrastructures adequate , While the factors that hinder the implementation of
Curriculum 2013, among others; (1) An understanding of the curriculum in 2013
is not yet complete, (2) Issues surrounding the textbook, (3) the administrative
burden the teacher and the curriculum in 2013 (4) The use of facilities and
infrastructure less than the maximum
