Abstract

This study investigates how college students view Grammarly as a thesis writing feedback tool. For English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, writing a thesis in English might be difficult. Grammarly is frequently used to help with grammar clarity and accuracy. Twenty-four final-year English language education students from a private university in Purwokerto, Indonesia, were given a survey as part of this study's quantitative methodology. Three main topics were covered in the questionnaire: the writing process of the students, Grammarly's benefits, and its limitations. According to the findings, most students felt that Grammarly helped them write better and use better grammar, especially when it came to giving them prompt, clear comments. Even with the free version, the majority of students firmly agreed that it was beneficial and easy to handle. However, some questioned the suggestions' accuracy and applicability, particularly in scholarly settings. All things considered, Grammarly is seen as a helpful adjunct to thesis writing, even if it cannot completely replace human review. This research recommends that in order to promote the growth of academic writing, digital tools such as Grammarly should be utilized judiciously and in conjunction with instructor assistance.
