Cancer and its effects of the treatments is closely related to low life quality
of cancer patients, the life quality of the patients was used as the report to the
treatment used as the evaluation of cancer theraphy. The research was aimed to
see and analysis the life quality of nasopharynx cancer patients in RSUD Prof. Dr.
Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto based on the questionnaire of European Quality of
Life 5 Dimension 5 Level (EQ-5D 5L). Descriptive analytic research wit cross
section design was done interviewing nasopharynx cancer patient by EQ-5D 5L.
The sample was done through purposive sampling which conducted the treatment
in RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto from January 2014 – Maret
2015. The percentage of the patient with problem was counted. There was 34
patients fulfilling complete questionnaire, 9 patient acntive treatmen, 20 patient
follow up traetment and 5 patients with recurrent. The cancer most attacked to 50-
60 years old (39,5%) and most of the treatment was chemoradiotheraphy (97,1%)
based cisplatin (100%). Quality of life Nasopharnyx cancer patients shows most
problems on Pain/disscomfort dimension (67,6%), followed by activity and
anxiety/depression dimension (55,9%), mobility and self-care respectively 23,5%
and 8,8%. Analytic test shows there are significant difference quality of life
patients who received combination surgery-chemoradiation on mobility and selfcare
dimensions, patients who received chemotherapy and chemoradiation have
better activity and self-care than who received combination surgerychemoradiation.
