Abstract
This study explored students’ perception of their preferred learning style and
assessment technique. The participants of the study were 58 students of English
Department of Muhammadiyah of University of Purwokerto. This study used
descriptive design which was used a 30-item Likert Scale questionnaire that
adopted from Choudhary (2011) as the instrument. Descriptive statistic was used
to analize the data. The results of the data revealed that the mean score of the
students’ perception of their preferred learning styles and assessment techniques
was 3,12 and it belongs to positive perception. It can be concluded that English
Department students have positive perception of their preferred learning styles
and assessment techniques.
