The practice of online loan companies disseminating misleading advertisements on social media platforms by providing information that does not reflect reality has the potential to harm consumers. This study aims to analyze the legal consequences of misleading advertisement dissemination and the legal responsibility of online loan companies for such practices. The research uses a normative juridical approach by examining relevant legislation. The findings indicate that online loan companies violate regulations through the dissemination of misleading advertisements, resulting in legal consequences for consumers, such as financial losses. These violations create obligations for business actors to provide compensation to affected consumers in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law. Online loan companies bear legal responsibility based on the principle of strict liability if proven to have disseminated misleading advertisements. The responsibilities imposed on online loan companies include administrative, civil, and criminal liabilities.
