Abstract

Grapevine plants are a valuable commodity that can be consumed as fresh fruit, grape
juice, raisins, and more. The cultivation of grapevine plants can be achieved through
cuttings. One of the challenges in grapevine cutting cultivation is slow root formation
or even the absence of root development. The objective of this research is to examine
the effectiveness of commercial auxin growth regulator (ZPT) on the growth of
grapevine cuttings (Vitis Vinifera L). The study employed a randomized block design
with four levels of auxin growth regulator (ZPT) treatments, namely P1 (Rootone-f),
P2 (Growtone), P3 (Atonik), and P4 (Root-up). The data was statistically analyzed
using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further subjected to Duncan's New Multiple
Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% significance level. The research results indicate that
the application of commercial auxin growth regulator (ZPT) had a non-significant
effect on all observed variables. Treatment P4 (Root-up) tended to provide the best
results in terms of leaf count, root length, root count, and percentage of surviving
cuttings. On the other hand, treatment P1 (Rootone-f) appeared to have the most
significant impact on the variable of shoot emergence time.
