Abstract
One method to enhance Chinese kale production is through the utilization of
liquid organic fertilizer and growing media. The objective of this research is to
investigate the effects of liquid organic fertilizer application, growing media, and
the resulting Chinese kale plants. This study was conducted from August 2022 to
December 2022 in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture and
Fisheries, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The method employed was a
Randomized Block Design consisting of two main factors: growing media - M0 =
soil, M1 = soil and rice husk charcoal (1:1), M2 = soil and cocopeat (1:1), M3 =
soil, rice husk charcoal, and cocopeat (1:0.5:0.5); and liquid organic fertilizer - N0
= without fertilizer, N1 = 3 ml/plant, N2 = 6 ml/plant, N4 = 9 ml/plant. The data
collected will be analyzed using ANOVA followed by DMRT 5% test. The
research results show that the interaction of treatment M0N1 was able to yield
good Chinese kale plants. Based on the research findings, the application of liquid
organic fertilizer and various growing media influenced the growth and yield of
Chinese kale (Brassica oleracea L.). The interaction of fertilizer and media M0NI
resulted in tall plants at 45 days after planting (33 cm), with 8 leaves at 45 days
after planting, wet root weight of 7.25 g, and wet plant weight of 128.25 g.
