This research aims to determine the profile of the Sidomulyo Farmer Group
from a socio-economic perspective, the activities conducted by the Sidomulyo Farmer
Group to improve the members' skills in Salak Pondoh cultivation and to find out the
role of the Sidomulyo Farmer Group in enhancing the members' abilities in Salak
Pondoh cultivation.
A descriptive analysis method was employed in this study, which was conducted
in Prigi Village, Sigaluh District, Banjarnegara Regency, from August 2022 to July
2023. The research utilized primary and secondary data, and the sampling technique
employed was a census of 27 participants.
The study results indicate that the Sidomulyo Farmer Group was established
on February 1, 2013, led by Mr. Rahmat, initially with 34 members, which has now
reduced to 27 active members. The group's activities to enhance Salak Pondoh
cultivation include regular meetings and discussions, training in seedling development,
pollination, and compost fertilizer production. The Sidomulyo Farmer Group has three
main roles: as a learning medium, a collaborative platform, and a production unit.
Among these roles, the group's function as a learning medium is the most valued by its
members, as it provides knowledge and skills to them.
