Abstract
The values of honesty are very important to be instilled in students
because they will become the basis for the formation of personal independence
and good moral attitudes. Honesty is something that is difficult for humans to do
because it teaches children the importance of honesty at home and at school is
very important. This study aims to determine the role of aqidah moral teachers in
fostering the value of honesty in class VIII students of MTS Muhammadiyah
Sarwodadi Banjarnegara.
The research used by researchers is a qualitative research approach.
Qualitative research can be said to be field research where researchers make direct
observations by collecting data found in the field through observation, interviews,
and documentation.
The results of this study indicate that the role of teachers in general
includes teachers as educators, instructors, mentors, models and role models. The
values of honesty are very important to be taught to students and can apply them
in everyday life. In this way, students can distinguish between things that should
be done and what should not be done. the role of the teacher of aqidah morals in
cultivating the values of honesty is very important because the teacher acts as a
facilitator and transformer with the aim of forming the character of students to
behave honestly in everyday life. in cultivating the values of honesty in the
classroom, namely by using the lecture method and PBL besides that the teacher
gives advice and punishment for students who behave dishonestly. while outside
of learning the teacher's role in fostering the values of honesty, namely through
activities such as extracurriculars in schools. The values of honesty taught by
teachers to class VIII students of MTs Muhammadiyah Sarwodadi are by teaching
the values of honesty to themselves, teachers, fellow friends, parents, and the
social environment. but in reality this has not been maximally implemented
properly, there are still some students who are dishonest both inside and outside
school both in words and deeds.
