This study aims to determine the impact of coastal erosion disasters on the socio-economic life of the community in the Adipala District, particularly those residing along the Cemara Sewu Beach coastline. The study aided in formulating appropriate disaster mitigation strategies for coastal erosion in the Cemara Sewu Beach area of Adipala Subdistrict. The research focused on two main variables: (1) The impact of erosion on the socio-economic conditions of the community and (2) The impact of erosion on environmental damage. The research method used was Quantitative Analysis with a Scoring Analysis Method. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling, which focused on the types of occupations of communities affected by coastal erosion near the study area. Based on the analysis, environmental damage due to coastal erosion significantly impacted the socio-economic conditions of the communities along Cemara Sewu Beach. Erosion caused damage to agricultural land, community businesses, and tourism facilities, leading to a decline in income for the affected communities. The communities experienced anxiety, worry, and trauma, disrupting their social activities. Mitigation efforts can be implemented, including constructing breakwaters, revetments (coastal cliff protectors), and seawalls.
