Abstract
This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of English songs in practicing English listening skills. This study involved 59 respondents and used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Data was collected through a questionnaire covering various aspects of perception towards the use of songs as a listening practice tool. The results showed that 80% of respondents gave a positive response to the use of songs for this purpose. This finding shows that students can practice understanding their listening skills, through the process of remembering and memorizing vocabulary, then understanding how to pronounce it, and also practicing understanding the meaning of the song they listen to. The implication of this study is the importance of considering music as one of the interesting and effective learning strategies in the context of English language learning. Thus, English teachers are advised to use songs more frequently in the learning process to maintain students' interest and motivation and improve their listening skills.
