This research aims to find out how effective the classical learning method
is in memorizing short letters of SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 10 BELIK.
This research was qualititative in nature and was carried out at SMP
Muhammadiyah 10 Belik, Pemalang Regency. The subjects of this research were
grade 8 students. The data collection techniques used were observation,
interviews, and documentation.
The results of the research show that the program for memorizing short
letters is a superior program at Muhammadiyah 10 Belik Middle School,
involving many school parties such as the principal, PAI teachers, and religious
leaders who play a role in implementing short letter memorization in class 8 at
Muhammadiyah 10 Belik Middle School. Memorization of short letters is carried
out in the mosque together and continued with Dhuha prayers in congregation
before entering each classroom. PAI teachers use the talaqqi method and classical
models to memorize short letters in class 8 of SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Belik.
According to PAI teachers, it is very effective in memorizing short letters
and makes it easier for grade 8 students to memorize these short letters. For grade
8 students, using the classical model is very fun, it can help memorize short letters
that they can't yet memorize, and they can share with each other. On the other
hand, grade 8 students expressed the opinion that memorizing short letters
individually would make them more focused, less distracted, and faster at
memorizing them. The obstacles include experiencing difficulties when
memorizing certain letters. The students found it difficult to memorize Surah Al-
Mutaffifin, Surah Al-Bayyinah, Surah Al-Mursallat, and Surah At-Takwir.
