Abstract

Sociolinguistics is the field of linguistics that studies the relationship between
language, identity, and social interaction, focusing on language variation,
development, and ideology. Around the world, each person has their personal
language style when interacting with other people. Humans have linguistic
diversity and can mix several languages in a single utterance. In sociolinguistics,
the mixing of one language with another is called code-mixing. This research aims
to analyze code mixing in one of the Podcast YouTube videos between Merry
Riana and Maudy Ayunda, along with the type, function, and factors that can
influence it of this code. This research has analyzed the type using Musyken
theory, and the researcher found 16 types of Insertion, 2 types of Alternation, and
5 types of Congruent Lexicalization. Talking about a Particular Topic found 17
data, Being Rmphatic About Something found 15 data, Expressing Group Identity
found 7 data, Intention of Clarifying the speech content for the interlocutor found
6 data. Interjection found 3 data, and Repetition used for Clarification found 1
data. For the factors that can influence the speaker using code-mixing, it describes
each datum using Dell Hymes theory.
