Public interest in tahfidz Al-Qur'an is starting to become significant, this has made educational institutions from elementary, MI, SMP, MTS, MA, SMA and SMK make tahfidz Al-Qur'an a superior program and subject. However, it needs to be underlined whether tahfidz Al-Qur'an has an impact on the students' spirituality or is it just branding for the school. Because, when talking about the Koran, what is most tangential is its spiritual attitude. The aim of this research is to determine the role of Al-Qur'an subjects in the formation of spiritual attitudes of class XI students at SMA IT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto and the obstacles.
This research is a type of qualitative research using observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques. Analysis of primary data from interview results, where the data collected will be analyzed using descriptive methods, namely describing the description of the data obtained and connecting them with each other to obtain a general conclusion.
This research shows that Al-Qur'an subjects play a role in the process of forming students' spiritual attitudes at SMA IT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto, by interpreting Surah An-Najm verses 39-41, Surah Al-Hujurat verse 18 and Surah An-Nisa verses 86 produces a spiritual attitude, namely faith, piety, honesty and respect for older people and respect for younger people. The obstacles in the process of forming a spiritual attitude are that schools have not prioritized spiritual attitudes in Al-Qur'an subjects because they are still focused on students' memorization achievements, time is ineffective and the unavailability of supporting tools, namely interpretation of the Al-Qur'an. The solution to face these obstacles is to provide sufficient and effective time and provide supporting tools in the form of interpretation of the Al-Qur'an.
