Moral aqidah teachers have an important role in shaping religious character
through appreciation, habituation, and practice. The purpose of this study is to
describe the role of moral aqidah teachers in shaping the religious character of
students at Ta'allumul Huda Islamic Junior High School Bumiayu Brebes Regency,
supporting and inhibiting factors in shaping the religious character of students at
Ta'allumul Huda Islamic Junior High School Bumiayu Brebes Regency, and
solutions to overcome problems in shaping the religious character of students at
Ta'allumul Huda Islamic Junior High School Bumiayu Brebes Regency.
This research is a qualitative research. The research subjects were
principals, moral aqidah teachers, religious osis coaches and students. the data
collection methods used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data
presentation technique uses condensation, data presentation, data verification.
The results showed that the role of aqidah akhlak teacher in shaping the
religious character of students at Ta''allumul Huda Bumiayu Islamic Junior High
School as an educator, as a facilitator, and as a motivator. This role is evidenced by
the success of teachers in shaping students' religious character, namely students
dressing in accordance with religious values, having high awareness in carrying out
prayers, having a great sense of empathy, especially towards friends, and having a
polite attitude towards teachers and peers. Factors that support the formation of
religious characters include role models from teachers, parenting patterns, school
facilities and infrastructure, routine activities, and extracurricular activities. On the
other hand, there are inhibiting factors that come from the students' own
environment. The solution is to involve parents to cooperate and ask for their
opinions with this is a good way to support the formation of religious character.
