Abstract
Background: Chikungunya jamu is one of the most popular in societies. Chikungunya jamu can be contaminated by heavy metals from industrial, transportation, and cultivation conditions. Purpose: knowing SSA can detect metal compounds and find out how much metal contamination there is in chikungunya jamu. Method: chikungunya jamu was digested with HNO3 and HClO4 (2:1) and disgested until clear and aspirated into an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). Results: several chikungunya jamu circulating in online stores contain lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) metal contamination. The results of this research can be adapted to BPOM 2023 and SNI 3709:1995. Conclusion: Atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) can be used to analyze lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) metal compounds.
