This research aimed to improve the fine motor skills of children in Group B at KB
(Playgroup) Harapan Bangsa OJ Cisalak Village, Cimanggu District, Cilacap
Regency through origami activities. This research employed a Classroom Action
Research {CAR) using the Kemmis and Me Taggart model. The research subjects
were 15 students in Group B, consisting of five boys and 10 girls. The object of the
research was fine motor skills. The data collection methods were observation and
documentation. The data analysis techniques are conducted in a descriptive
quantitative and qualitative manner. The success indicator was set at a minimum of
71% of the 15 children having fine motor skills with the Good criteria. The research
was conducted in two cycles. The research findings indicate that the children's fine
motor skills improved after the origami intervention. During the pre-intervention
observation, the percentage of children's fine motor skills was 51%. in Cycle 1, it
increased to 60%, showing a 9% improvement; while in Cycle II, if increased to
75%, showing a 15% improvement. These percentages demonstrate that 75% of
children in Group B have achieved the success indicator of fine motor skills with
the Good criteria. The steps taken to improve children's fine motor skills were as
follows: I) the teacher explained how Lo fold paper using a demonstration method;
2) the children were given reinforcement by telling them to iron the folds they had
made; and 3) the children were given rewards in the form of praise.
