Abstract

This thesis, entitled "Enhancing Children's Creativity Through Batik Activities in
Group A of Pos PAUD Multi Rahayu 1 Pesuningan," was written by Nuning Tri
Supiyani Ningsih, NIM.2201110036, Faculty of Education, Early Childhood
Education study program, under the supervision of Tatik Ariyati, M. Pd. The
development of creativity is crucial for young children, as it creates new
experiences and ideas they encounter, fostering attitudes and self-confidence for
optimal child development. This research is motivated by preliminary studies
indicating that teachers only focus on reading, writing, and arithmetic skills,
neglecting the creative development aspect of children, resulting in children being
proficient in reading, writing, and arithmetic but lacking the ability to create new
things. One method used to develop creativity is through batik activities, aiming to
develop children's creativity through batik activities at Pos PAUD Multi Rahayu 1
Pesuningan in the academic year 2023/2024. This research was conducted using
the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method involving 16 children, consisting of
eight boys and eight girls. From the researcher's observations, one child showed
some improvement, two children developed as expected, and 13 children showed
excellent development. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and
documentation. In cycle I, a 50% improvement was achieved, and in cycle II, a
93.75% improvement was achieved. The data were then analyzed qualitatively
using data collection, data reduction, data display, and inference techniques.
Thus, the results of this study indicate that children's creative abilities can be
enhanced to develop maximally. Based on the research findings, it appears that
batik activities can be considered an alternative for developing
creativity
