Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) study aimed to improve the fine motor skills of early childhood learners. The research consists of two cycles, each divided into four stages: 1) Planning, 2) Implementation, 3) Observation, and 4) Reflection. These stages were repeated and focused on cutting activities with origami paper. The research was conducted from January to April 2024 in Group A of KB Bina Cita Anak Randudongkal. The research employed a non-test method, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as the non-test instruments. The data analysis technique was qualitative data analysis. The findings of this research indicate an improvement in the fine motor skills of early childhood children using the cutting method with origami paper. At the pre-intervention stage, the percentage of children achieving mastery was 20%, comprising 2 children (13%) in the Developing as Expected category, and 1 child (7%) in the Developing Very Well category. This increased to 53% in Cycle I, with 6 children (40%) in the Developing as Expected category, and 2 children (13%) in the Developing Very Well category. The percentage further increased to 87% in Cycle II, with 8 children (54%) in the Developing as Expected category, and 5 children (33%) in the Developing Very Well category. Therefore, the implementation of the cutting method with origami paper to enhance the fine motor skills of early childhood children at KB Bina Cita Anak was successful.
