Advancements in information technology in the current era have greatly facilitated
human daily activities and tasks. One such activity is obtaining information online
through an internet connection. Information system websites are crucial tools that
simplify human tasks. In the field of education, these websites not only focus on
academic quality but also enhance non-academic skills through organizational and
extracurricular activities. Student Activity Units (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa or
UKM) are examples of non-academic activities at the university level. One such
example is the activities of the Student Nature Lovers, known as MAPALA.
Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto hosts one such student activity unit called
Mapala Satria UMP. This organization uses a website as its information system.
The website provides information about the organization, including background,
objectives, vision, mission, organizational structure, activity programs, and activity
documentation. However, the current website is underutilized due to its suboptimal
appearance and functionality. Therefore, there is a need to develop the user
interface and user experience to enhance the website's usability. The method used
for this website development research is Human-Centered Design. The stages
include User Context Analysis, User Needs Analysis, Solution Design Creation, and
Solution Design Evaluation. The evaluation calculation employs the System
Usability Scale (SUS) method. The initial design received a score of 48.3, which is
below the average SUS score of 68, placing it in the F or Awful category. However,
the evaluation of the solution design showed an improvement, achieving a score of
78.4, categorized as B or Good. In conclusion, the solution design based on
research data can enhance the usability of the Mapala Satria UMP website.
