Abstract

Augmented reality (AR) technology has become the main focus in
application development in various fields, including education. In the context of
cultural preservation, the use of AR can be an effective tool for introducing and
understanding cultural heritage, such as traditional musical instruments. This
research aims to design and implement an AR application that uses multiple
markers as a medium for recognizing traditional musical instruments used by
teaching staff. The development method used is MDLC (Multimedia Development
Life Cycle) which is an approach to software development that uses modeling as
the main foundation in the entire software development life cycle. The research
results show that this AR application with multiple markers can be an effective
means for teaching staff to introduce traditional musical instruments to students
in an interactive and in-depth way. This application can help teaching staff
introduce traditional Indonesian musical instruments. Application development
has limitations and has not yet reached perfection, the author hopes that existing
deficiencies can be developed to become better technology and more interesting
and modern results.
