Building a character who cares about the environment is a top priority which
involves the process of shaping a person's personality from an early age.
Strengthening the character of caring for the environment in elementary school
students is very necessary, considering the importance of instilling
environmental care from an early age. The program "Melisa and Sehrina Take
Care of the Oral with Uncle Kasam" at SDN 1 Purwojati is expected to
strengthen students' environmentally caring character. This research aims to
analyze how the program "Melisa and Sehrina Take Care of Lisan with Uncle
Kasam" is an effort to strengthen environmentally caring character and analyze
supporting and inhibiting factors that influence strengthening environmentally
caring character at SD Negeri 1 Purwojati. This research uses qualitative
research. The research subjects consisted of school principals, teachers and
students. Data were collected using interviews, observation and documentation
which were then analyzed using interactive analysis techniques. The results of
the research, namely the "Melisa and Sehrina Take Care of Oral Care with Uncle
Kasam" program, can strengthen the environmentally caring character of
students at SD Negeri 1 Purwojati. The aspects or indicators in carrying out this
program include maintaining a clean environment, diligently caring for plants
and not liking to damage plants, differentiating between organic and non-organic
waste and maintaining school facilities (toilets, classrooms, etc.) can all be
implemented. Factors that support strengthening the character of caring for the
environment are the availability of school facilities and mentoring by teachers.
The factors that hinder strengthening the character of caring for the environment
are the different habits of students in their home environment.
