Abstract

The investigation of English language education in a non-formal education setting, SKB Kalibagor, presents an exceptional viewpoint on the pedagogy and acquisition of a global language such as English within a regional milieu. It accentuates the dynamic interplay between worldwide and local influences in the realm of education. The study aims to identify the challenges English teachers face at SKB Kalibagor and to describe the teaching strategies used by the English teachers at SKB Kalibagor. The descriptive qualitative method with a case study will provide important insights into the complex teaching practices of English teachers in SKB Kalibagor. The subject of this research is an English teacher at SKB Kalibagor who teaches Kejar Paket C (Senior High School). The results show that English teacher at SKB Kalibagor encounters significant challenges, including diverse student backgrounds and limited resources. the teacher emphasises active learning strategies to overcome motivational barriers, implementing interactive activities, group work, and hands-on exercises to create a dynamic learning environment that fosters student involvement and enthusiasm. By leveraging these strategies, the English teacher at SKB Kalibagor demonstrates a commitment to overcoming challenges and fostering practical language learning experiences for all students. This suggestion sets the stage for delving into the intricacies of English language teaching at non-formal schools, such as SKB Kalibagor, by highlighting the importance of this educational context and the need for research to inform effective teaching practices and policies.
