Abstract

Fine motor skills entail proportional finger movements. This research aims to
evaluate and identify the effectiveness of collage activities with natural materials
media in enhancing fine motor skills among 5-6-year-old children in Group B
of Harapan Bangsa 01 Cisalak. This classroom action research using the
Kemmis model was conducted in two cycles (6 sessions), with each cycle
consisting of 4 stages: planning, action, observation, and analysis and reflection.
The research subjects involved 12 children in Group B, comprising four males
and eight females. The research object was fine motor skills. The data were
collected through observation and documentation and then analysed
descriptively and qualitatively. The classical limit for completeness of children's
learning outcomes was 75-80% of the total number of children in the class. If
children master 75-80% of the material taught in cycle 1 and 2, the research is
considered successful. The research results indicate an improvement in
children's fine motor skills after the implementation of collage activities. In the
first cycle, learning success in the aspect of fine motor development includes the
ability to use glue correctly at 56%, which increased to 75% in the second cycle;
the ability to stick leaf pieces accurately according to the designated pattern at
56%, which increased to 75% in the second cycle; the ability to collage more
than one material (paper, cotton, twigs, and seeds) according to the designated
pattern at 60%, which increased to 79% in the second cycle.
