Abstract

This research was conducted in Pejogol Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas
Regency. The objectives of this study are: 1) To reveal the characteristics of
cassava farmers. 2) To determine the costs incurred, revenue generated, and
income of cassava farmers. 3) To assess the feasibility of cassava farming in
Pejogol Village, Cilongok Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. The method employed
was a survey using both primary and secondary data. The sample selection
technique involved purposive sampling, with criteria set for cassava farmers
leasing village land, totaling 35 cassava farmers in Pejogol Village, Cilongok
Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. Results of the study include: 1) The
characteristics of cassava farmers provide an overview of respondent cassava
farmers based on age, education, number of dependents, farming experience, land
area, and land leasing costs. 2) The average farming cost incurred by respondent
farmers is IDR. 15,338,803.06 per production cycle, with revenue amounting to
IDR. 63,782,583.33 and income reaching IDR. 48,443,780.28 per production
cycle. The Break-Even Point (BEP) in terms of product is 4,412.19 kg, which is
less than the production amount of 25,012.94 kg, indicating profitability. The BEP
in terms of price is IDR. 11,251,089.64. To achieve profitability, the selling price
of cassava must exceed the BEP price, and the income from cassava farming in
Pejogol Village exceeds the BEP price, amounting to IDR. 48,443,780.28, with an
average selling price of IDR. 2,550/kg. Therefore, cassava farming is profitable
and has reached the break-even point. 3) The feasibility of cassava farming, using
the R/C Ratio analysis, obtains a value of 4.16:1. As the R/C Ratio is greater than
1, cassava farming is deemed feasible.
