Discipline is the key to success for individuals in achieving their goals,
making it a fundamental aspect in the educational process. However, in recent
times, discipline has become a scarce commodity, particularly among teenagers.
Therefore, the ta'zir method may be essential in Harapan Mulia Orphanage to
enhance the discipline of the wards and create a deterrent effect for violators. This
research employs Field Research methodology, utilizing data collection techniques
such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted
using a qualitative descriptive approach, outlining the findings from the field and
organizing them by selecting and simplifying the data. Subsequently, data
presentation is performed to draw conclusions.
The results of this research indicate that the implementation of the ta'zir
method in Harapan Mulia Orphanage involves the following mechanisms: firstly,
summoning wards suspected of committing violations. Secondly, the authority to
carry out ta'zir on wards suspected of violations lies with the administrators.
Thirdly, wards suspected of guilt, proven by witnesses such as the group leader, will
receive ta'zir punishment. Fourthly, the forms of ta'zir given to wards include pushups
or head shaving. The application of ta'zir in Harapan Mulia Orphanage
Purwokerto has positive impacts, creating a temporary sense of deterrence among
the wards. However, it also has negative consequences, establishing a temporary
gap between the group leader serving as a witness and the ward committing the
violation.
