This research aims to describe the forms and functions of grammatical cohesion in the news section of online educational media, specifically focusing on the Radar Banyumas October 2022 edition. The method employed in this study is qualitative descriptive, seeking to depict and formulate data in the form of paragraphs within the news articles. The approach utilized is discourse analysis, with the data comprising paragraphs containing grammatical cohesion obtained from the educational section of online media in Radar Banyumas October 2022. Data collection techniques involve the simultaneous method, employing basic techniques of observation, and advanced techniques such as note-taking. Out of the 65 analyzed news articles, various forms of grammatical cohesion were identified, including 422 instances of reference, 107 instances of substitution, 24 instances of ellipsis, and 254 instances of conjunctions. The dominance of reference forms led to the conclusion that references play a significant role in establishing coherence within the educational news section of Radar Banyumas, October 2022 edition.
