Education as one of the various ways humans have to show their love for
their country is a comprehensive and sustainable effort. In terms of education, this
attitude of love for the country can be called Nationalism. Nationalism is a
national ideology which means a person who has love for his or her own nation
and homeland. Nationalist values can also provide students with a solid moral
foundation, equipping them with good values such as politeness, responsibility,
and sincere love and loyalty towards the nation and state. The aim of this research
is to find out what teachers do in forming nationalist values, describe how
nationalist values are applied in learning moral aqidah at Muhammadiyah
Bobotsari Vocational School and explore supporting and inhibiting factors for
implementing nationalist values in learning moral aqidah.
This research is a qualitative research. The research subjects were the aqidah
akhlak teacher, head of student affairs and 3 students of SMK Muhammadiyah
Bobotsari. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and
documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and
drawing conclusions.
The results of this research show that first, the values of nationalism that
exist at SMK Muhammadiyah Bobotsari are the value of discipline, the value of
responsibility, the value of courtesy and the value of mutual cooperation. Second,
the value of nationalism in learning moral beliefs is related to monotheism. In
ongoing learning, students can have an understanding of monotheism in order to
strengthen a sense of unity and unity as well as a sense of mutual respect between
differences. Third, supporting factors, teachers who are professional in teaching
and the school environment. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are family
environment, cellphones and peers.
