The Karangsambung District has significant potential for sand mining, leading to many communities relying on themining sector. However, on the other hand, some communities feel disadvantaged due to the impacts arising frommining activities. This research was conducted to examine the effects of mining efforts on the level of environmental quality in the community. The method used is quantitative. This study focuses on communities closest to mining activities, namely the villages of Kaligending, Karangsambung, and Totogan. Data collection was carried out through interviews, field surveys, and documentation. The level of community environmental quality was analyzed using scoring, while the analysis of the impact of mining on the level of well-being used field analysis. The results of this study show that mining activities have an impact on the well-being of the community. The well-being level of the Karangsambung District community has changed after mining activities. The well-being level falls into the category of moderate well-being. All sand mining activities are expected to pay more attention to the surrounding environment in every mining operation to reduce the resulting impact. Additionally, it is crucial for the community to be more aware of the importance of mining consequences to broaden their understanding, thus optimizing the potential of existing natural resources.
