Abstract

Wonosobo Regency does not have a prison, so the Wonosobo Class IIB State Detention
Center also functions as a place to foster prisoners. The capacity of Wonosobo Detention
Center is 173 people. As of September 25, 2023, the number of residents at the Wonosobo
Class IIB State Detention Center was 146 people consisting of 37 detainees and 109
inmates. 42 of the inmates are recidivists. The coaching carried out at the Wonosobo
Class IIB Detention Center is the same for all prisoners, there is no special coaching
provided for recidivist prisoners. A special coaching model is needed for recidivist
prisoners so that they do not repeat criminal acts again. The purpose of this research is
to find out and analyze the coaching of recidivist inmates at the Wonosobo Class IIB State
Detention Center and analyze the special coaching model for recidivist inmates. The
research was prepared using empirical juridical research methods and with qualitative
data analysis techniques. The results show that the coaching carried out at the Class IIB
State Detention Center is the same between ordinary prisoners and recidivist prisoners.
A special coaching model is needed for recidivist inmates, the coaching model can be
carried out using a psychological criminology approach and a sociological criminology
approach. It can also carry out a technology-based recidivist inmate assessment model.
