The objective of this research is to determine the profile of red chili farmers
in Kaliajir Village, Purwanegara District of Banjarnegara Regency. It also
aims to identify the production costs incurred by farmers for each planting
season of red chili farming in the village. Additionally, the research seeks to
determine the income obtained by farmers for each planting season of red
chili farming. This research was conducted in Kaliajir Village, Purwanegara
District, from January to June 2023. Data was collected through observation,
interviews, and documentation. The population consisted of red chili farmers
in the research area, and the sample was obtained using simple random
sampling with the help of a random table. Both primary and secondary data
were used in the study. Descriptive qualitative analysis and formulas were
employed to determine cost and income analysis. The research findings
indicate that red chili farmers in the research area are mostly productive
(aged 15-64 years) with varying levels of education. The majority have 3-4
dependents in their family, and the average cultivated land is 0.27 hectares.
The average fixed cost was IDR. 1,904,516, the average variable cost per
farmer was IDR. 7,739,096, and the average variable cost per hectare was
IDR. 29,804,610. Thus, the average total cost per farmer was IDR. 9,643,611,
and the average total cost per hectare was IDR. 36,515,105. The average
income obtained by farmers was IDR. 14,727,536, and the average income
per hectare was IDR. 66,394,360.
