Abstract
Education is an effort to provide opportunities for humans to develop their
potential, as well as guide them in the expected direction, and try to make them go
from the unexpected. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Islamic
Religious Education teachers in fostering students' emotional intelligence through
a humanistic approach at SMK Muhammadiyah Sampang Cilacap.
This research uses field research, with a descriptive qualitative approach.
The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and
documentation. Data analysis techniques using interactive models according to
Miles and Huberman.
The results of this study show that there are various roles carried out by
Islamic Education teachers of SMK Muhammadiyah Sampang Cilacap in fostering
students' emotional intelligence through a humanistic approach, namely as
supervisors, teachers, class managers, motivators, consular and explorators. These
roles are carried out by becoming a role model for their students, promoting good
communication with students, creating reviews through disciplined habituation.
