Abstract

The Qur'an is a direct message from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad
through the intermediary of the angel Gabriel. This book was revealed by Allah to
be read, practiced and become a guide for every Muslim. The grounding of the
Quran needs to be held, this is because there are still many young people today
who cannot read the Quran. Efforts to teach the Quran require the right method
to overcome the difficulties of reading the Quran experienced by the younger
generation. This is the case at SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Randudongkal. For this
reason, researchers are interested in conducting research on the Implementation
of the Iqra Method in an Effort to Overcome Difficulties in Reading the Quran at
SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Randudongkal.
This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects
were PAI teachers and grade X students at SMK Muhammadiyah 7
Randudongkal. Data collection used observation, interview and documentation
methods. The steps of data analysis include data collection, data reduction, data
presentation and data verification.
The researcher found that SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Randudongkal uses the
Iqra method to overcome students' difficulties in reading the Quran. The use of
the Iqra method to overcome difficulties in reading the Quran is carried out in the
form of two activities, namely extracurricular activities and also guidance outside
of class hours. Extracurricular activities are carried out twice a week, then
guidance outside of class hours is carried out flexibly according to the
opportunities available to both teachers and students. The development of
students is much more improved after being guided specifically using the Iqra
method. It is proven that slowly but surely the students are experiencing good
progress in their ability to read the Quran.
