Abstract

This research presents the performance analysis of a buck-boost converter in a solar power generation system. The buck-boost converter is a crucial component in photovoltaic systems as it ensures efficient power transfer between the solar panel and the load. The aim of this study is to evaluate the buck-boost converter's performance in terms of efficiency, voltage regulation, and power quality. The analysis includes simulations and experimental tests conducted on a small-scale solar power generation system. The obtained results from both simulations and experiments are compared to determine the converter's performance under various operating conditions. The findings of this research contribute to the understanding of the behavior of the buck-boost converter in solar power generation systems and provide insights for its optimization. The research emphasizes the importance of proper design and control parameters to achieve optimal performance and maximize solar energy utilization. The buck-boost converter module used in the study achieved an average efficiency of 72.9%, a maximum output voltage of 40 volts, and a maximum output current of 4 amperes.
