Abstract
The formation of student character is important in the ISMUBA learning
process, this study aims to determine the implementation of ISMUBA learning in
shaping student character. and to find out the inhibiting and supporting factors of
teachers in carrying out learning and building student character with the
ISMUBA learning method at SMA Muhammadiyah Sokaraja.
This type of research is a field research with a descriptive qualitative
approach, the subjects of the study were ISMUBA teachers and students at SMA
Muhammadiyah Sokaraja totaling 98 students. Data collection techniques with
observation, interview and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques with
data reduction, data presentation and conclusions.
The results showed that the implementation of ISMUBA learning in
shaping the character of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Sokaraja: 1) teachers
approach students individually to students who are less enthusiastic in school
activities, 2) hold literacy corner activities and literacy Fridays, 3) carry out
tadarus and Tahfiz Alquran activities and accompanied by learning their
meanings and interpretations, 4) learning activities in class are carried out
interactively as well as giving gifts and appreciation to diligent students. Then
obstacles in ISMUBA learning to shape student character: 1) lack of student
discipline in learning activities, 2) learning activities have not been effective and
optimal, 3) lack of discipline of teaching staff in enforcing school activities and
rules, 4) lack of teaching staff, 5) parents who do not understand school rules.
The solution to the problem can be overcome by carrying out supervision by the
principal, providing socialization to parents to support and also provide
constructive criticism and advice for learning activities in schools, improving the
quality of learning activities, giving appreciation and warning in enforcing school
rules and developing the quality and quantity of teachers.
