Abstract

Educational institutions in Indonesia are considered by many to still use a
conventional learning system, especially using the lecture method. This condition
results in low student interest in participating in learning, the next result is low
motivation and student learning outcomes for this study aims to determine “The
Effect Of Problem-Based Learning Strategies On Motivation and Student Learning
Outcomes In Fiqh Subjects At Muhammadiyah 1 Purbalingga High School”.
This research a quantitative research approach, this type of research is using
Quasi Experiment Design. Data collection techniques in the form of pretest and
posttest, questionnaires and documentation. The analysis uses quantitative data
analysis, where the data collected will be analyzed quantitative using the SPSS
version 22.0 application, namely using the Independent Sample T-test.
The implementation of the Problem Based Learning strategy consists of five
steps. Then this study shows that there is an effect of Problem Based Learning
strategy on student motivation and learning outcomes is fiqh subjects at SMA
Muhammadiyah 1 Purbalingga. This is proven for learning motivation with a tcount
value = 6.289 an t-table = 1.697 so that 6.289 > 16.97 and sig.(2-tailed) =
0.000 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. And for learning outcomes
with a t-count value = 2.489 and t-table = 1.697 so that 2.489 > 1.697 and sig.(2-
tailed) = 0.016 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be coucluded
that the Problem Based Learning strategy affects student motivation and learning
outcomes.
