Abstract

Nowadays, from youngsters to adults, many people try memorising the Quran. Even Quran-memorising schools are expanding, and many focus mainly on the Tahfidzul Quran programme. The Tahfidzul Quran programmes at both private institutions and Islamic-based schools are outstanding. This is undoubtedly motivating for those who practise memorization to keep working to improve and maintain their memory so that the following generation might benefit from it. Data gathering methods include interviews, observations, and documentation in a field study with a qualitative methodology. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis to provide a comprehensive picture of Tahfidzul Quran learning at Pondok Pesantren Modern Sabilurrosyad Muhammadiyah Banjarnegara. This research shows that tahfidzul Quran learning at Pondok Pesantren Modern Sabilurrosyad Muhammadiyah Banjarnegara goes through the planning and implementation stages. The planning stage includes: testing the recitation of students during new student admission, grouping halaqahs (study circles) after the recitation test, determining media and targets in tahfidz learning, using methods for memorizing the Quran, and providing evaluations of tahfidzul Quran learning. In its implementation, some factors support the development of tahfidzul Quran learning at Pondok Modern Sabilurrosyad Muhammadiyah Banjarnegara, including environmental factors, human resources, and infrastructure. Tahfidzul Quran learning not only has supporting factors as mentioned, but there are also obstacles in the implementation of tahfidzul Quran learning at Pondok Pesantren Modern Sabilurrosyad Muhammadiyah Banjarnegara, such as when a teacher is absent. At the same time, the pesantren has not prepared a replacement, encounter unfamiliar or less familiar verses of the Quran, the difficulty of memorizing or reviewing, packed schedules, and the lack of students' quality understanding in reading the Quran.
