Abstract

In reading the Qur'an, there are many methods, methods and special techniques so that students within the scope of school easily understand how to quickly read the Qur'an. However, not all students are able to read it fluently. There are those who have not been able to read the Quran at all. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to review and examine how teacher strategies in improving students' Quran reading skills at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Purbalingga.
This research is a type of field research with interview, observation, and documentation data collection techniques. Data analysis uses primary data from interviews, where the collected data will be analyzed qualitatively using a descriptive method, which describes a picture of the data obtained and relates it to each other to obtain a general conclusion.
This research shows that teacher strategies in improving students' Quran reading skills at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Purbalingga. The results showed that the school applied a group system to students who could not read the Quran. And this system is applied at times outside of class hours or additional special class hours for students who cannot read the Quran.
Supporting factors: Students have also studied at TPQ or are still within the scope of TPQ and there are several students who enter Islamic boarding schools so that the method of reading the Koran is easier.
Inhibiting factors: Lack of free time can be an obstacle in improving the ability to read the Koran. Therefore, it is important to manage time well.
