Schools have a very important role in the field of education, because schools
can create an easy generation that is more advanced for the future. Education in
an area is sometimes still very lacking, such as in Ciamis Regency, not many people
know the location of schools in one district, be it kindergarten, elementary, junior
high, or high school. With the lack of information related to school locations, an
android-based school mapping application was made in Ciamis Regency using the
location-based service approach method as the user's initial coordinate point and
the Haversine formula algorithm used to measure the closest distance by comparing
the distance in the application with the distance of google maps with the research
results getting an average value of 0, 065 km, it can be concluded that the
calculation results between the application distance and google maps are not too
far away and the results of the functionality test using a questionnaire obtained a
result of 85.8% with a very good category where this application can help find the
location of the school from the user's closest point quickly and accurately because
it is equipped with a route and estimated mileage and information about the school.
