Abstract

This research is based on the analysis that the available teaching materials do not incorporate local wisdom values and no game-based educational questions (quizzes) are included in the teaching materials. The available teaching materials are still conventional, and no digital teaching material is based on local wisdom. The need for teaching materials that align with technological advancements becomes a crucial consideration for educators in preparing digital-based learning tools that match the characteristics of students already adept at using digital technology facilities such as smartphones. The objectives of this research are as follows: 1) To develop interactive e-book teaching materials based on local wisdom using the Wordwall educational game for thematic learning, precisely Theme 8, Sub-theme 1, Lesson 3, in Class V. 2) To determine the feasibility of the interactive
e-book teaching materials based on local wisdom using the Wordwall educational game for thematic learning, specifically Theme 8, Sub-theme 1, Lesson 3, in Class V. 3) To assess the practicality of the interactive e-book teaching materials based on local wisdom using the Wordwall educational game for thematic learning, specifically Theme 8, Sub-theme 1, Lesson 3, in Class V. The methodology employed in this research follows the Research and Development (RD) approach, utilizing the ADDIE development model consisting of five stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research instruments used include expert validation assessment questionnaires for feasibility, teacher response questionnaires for practicality assessment, and student response questionnaires. The findings of this research result in the development of interactive e-book teaching materials based on local wisdom using the Wordwall educational game, which is systematically organized following the ADDIE stages. The materials are engaging, facilitating student comprehension of the content and enhancing their learning motivation. The validation assessment scores from media experts, subject matter experts, and language experts are 82.2% (highly valid), 97.1% (highly valid), and 85% (highly valid), respectively. These expert validations demonstrate that the interactive e-book teaching materials based on local wisdom are feasible for further testing. Furthermore, the practicality assessment of the interactive e-book teaching
materials receives positive feedback from both teachers and students, with scores of 98% (excellent) and 100% (very appealing), respectively. Based on these results, it can be concluded that interactive e-book teaching materials based on local wisdom have received positive responses from teachers and students and are feasible and practical to use in the learning process.
