Abstract

Introduction : The use of traditional medicine in the form of herbal medicine is in great demand by the people of Indonesia, one of which is in the form of chikungunya herbal. Based on PERMENKES RI No.007 of 2012 concerning traditional medicine registration, traditional medicines must not contain BKO. BKO that is often added to chikungunya herbal medicine is paracetamol. This study aims to determine the presence of paracetamol content in chikungunya herbal medicine circulating in Cilacap. Method : analysis using TLC-Densitometry. The stationary phase used Silica Gel F254 with chloroform mobile phase : ethanol (8:1) and read at 250 nm wavelength. Result : value of coefficient of correlation (r) = 0,9956, LOD = 0,0005 %, LOQ = 0,0017 %. The precision test value is SD of 0,511, paracetamol RSD 1,127% and the accuracy test value obtained a percent regain value of 98,084%. Conclusion : method validation using TLC-Densitometry has met the parameters of selectivity, linearity, LOD, LOQ, precision and good accuracy so that it can be used to determine paracetamol levels in herbal medicine. Based on the results of the study, 2 out of 3 herbal samples analyzed contained paracetamol, namely samples A and B with levels of 4,6 % (b/b) and 2,2 % (b/b), respectively.
