Abstract

This research is motivated by the author's desire to develop and improve the
quality of fiqh education at SMP Zam-Zam Cilongok MBS. As someone who used
to be a student at the junior high school, the author sees that there are some
deficiencies in learning fiqh that need to be improved. Fiqh learning is learning that
is used to find out the laws of whether an action is obligatory or haram, sunnah or
makruh, which is reviewed from the evidence in the Qur'an and hadith, and for the
laws of shari'a contained in prayer, zakat, fasting, hajj, which includes conditions,
pillars, and so on. In the latest curriculum implemented in Indonesia, it is required
to have a high level of understanding in school subjects, or what can be called high
order thinking skills (HOTS).
The demonstration method is the teacher's way of teaching by
demonstrating and showing students a process, situation, event, sequence of doing
an activity or certain objects that are being studied either in actual or imitation form
through the use of various kinds of media relevant to the subject matter to make it
easier for students to be creative in understanding the material.
This type of research is a qualitative descriptive field research, which is a
research that aims to explain social phenomena or an event. With this qualitative
research, the author will collect data related to the Use of Demonstration Method to
Support Understanding of Fiqh Learning at SMP MBS Zam-Zam Cilongok.
Based on the results of interviews with Mr. F and Mr. M as fiqh teachers at
MBS Zam-Zam Cilongok Junior High School, the author can explain how the use
of the demonstration method used by him. He has steps in using the demonstration
method, namely; 1) Developing instructional objectives to provide strong
motivation for students to learn,2) Giving understanding to students that the choice
of techniques used is able to guarantee the achievement of the goals that have been
formulated, 3) Ensure the situation and place to be used, 4) Determine the outline
of the steps to be carried out, 5) Ensure sufficient time is available so that it can
provide information if necessary and students can ask the teacher for further
clarification.
