Abstract

This research aims to describe the functional structure of single sentences in
the translation of Quranic surah Al-Fath. The data source for this study is the
translation of Quranic surah Al-Fath verses 1-29, obtained directly from the
Tajwid Perkata Sambung Metode Warna Transliterasi Latin Quran published
by Cordoba. The data analysis stage used by the researcher employs the
distribution method, with the basic technique of Dividing Direct Elements
(DDE). The results of this research can be summarized as follows: In the
translation of Quranic surah Al-Fath, the Functional Structure of Single
Sentences in the Translation of Quranic Surah Al-Fath reveals the presence of
twelve single sentences out of the 29 verses of the translated surah Al-Fath.
The functions of these sentences consist of (12) subject functions, (10)
predicate functions, (2) object functions, (4) complement functions, and (3)
adverbial functions. Subject and predicate functions dominate as they are
essential componentsof a sentence. The sentence categories comprise (1) verb
categories, (8) noun categories, (7) adjective categories, (3) adverb
categories, (2) preposition categories, (2) verbal phrase categories, (2)
nominal phrase categories, (3) adjective phrase categories, (1) numeral
phrase category, and (1) nominal clause category. The roles of sentences
include (8) agent roles, (3) recipient roles, (1) participant role, (1) time role,
(7) circumstance roles, (2) quantifier roles, (2) causal roles, (1) instrument
role, (1) action role, and (3) result roles.
